“My little boy has absolutely loved his time at Little Oaks. He is thriving in the Pre-School room just as he did in Playgroup and loves attending every morning. He is always excited to tell me what he has been up to and it is so lovely to receive regular Tapestry observations to enable me to talk to him about what he has been doing and it gives him a chance to share the photos with his older brother too.
The broad and varied activities on offer are so lovely, with regular cooking activities, Action Kids, Music and Movement and Dough Disco being some of the things he has loved doing this year, as well as having external visitors such as the Mini Zoo.
The staff at Little Oaks have always been so friendly and welcoming, I know I can talk to any one of them about any issues I might have. When my son took a long time to settle at the start of Playgroup, they allowed for a much longer settling in period and were kind, caring and nurturing.
Little Oaks really has given both of my children the very best start to their time in School and provided them both with the very best start to their schooling.”
“I am sure that all of the parents feel the same way – that their child is special to the staff and that is testament to how extremely wonderful you all are! He has always been excited to go to school – a fantastic grounding for big school and for setting up a love of learning for life.”
“Little Oaks is a fantastic early years setting, the staff are dedicated, professional and passionate about all aspects of my children’s learning journey.“
“I’ve really enjoyed serving on the committee and feel that Little Oaks is in a great position to continue to thrive – I’m confident that it’s the best setting in the area. I’m sure I’ll see many of you ‘at the school gate’ soon!”
“Thank you all for making the Playgroup and Pre-School experiences an enriching and joyful one. My daughter started such a shy little girl and it is lovely to see how she has grown in confidence. She loves you all and all of the friends she has made, we wish you all the best for the future!”
“I cannot speak highly enough of Little Oaks Pre-School.
I was recommended Little Oaks for our eldest daughter, who attended in 2014/2015. We were very happy with her time there and when it came to choosing a pre-school for our second child, there was only one choice!
Our little girl is currently in Playgroup, she started in September 2018 and has settled really well, mainly down to her key worker (Debbie) and buddy (Mel) but I’ve found all the staff in her room to be warm, welcoming and caring. Within 6 weeks of starting we were given a report, it showed her areas of development and examples of just how well Debbie knew our little girl, in such a short time, we were very impressed!
Our daughter loves going to Little Oaks, she gets to play with all the messy stuff I’m reluctant to do at home, while making little friends of her own. At pick up, Debbie lets me know how she’s been in session and what she’s played with etc, which is always good to hear!
The Manager Nikki is very friendly, approachable and is always available for a chat should you have any concerns (I’ve not had any!) although I have asked for her advice a few times, which has been given and greatly appreciated.
We are looking forward to seeing how our daughter grows and develops as she moves from Playgroup to Pre-school, but the same cannot be said about the day she leaves as our time at Little Oaks will be over. This will be a sad day.”
“Staff are great at identifying the individual needs of the children. Our daughter is very shy and they have worked hard to improve her confidence, namely enrolling her in their “chattering crew” for children who need a bit more help in finding their voice. We really feel this benefited her and we have seen a real difference in her confidence. The staff all care about the children as individuals, with all members (not just teaching staff) knowing all the children’s names. The team always ensure that Tapestry is updated several times a week with videos and photos so parents have an insight into what their children are doing, which is really appreciated.”
“I cannot recommend Little Oaks Pre School enough! I am a single mother to one precious little girl and Little Oaks have always been very supportive and comforting and I have always known my child is in a safe and happy learning environment.
My daughter started at Little Oaks when she was only 2, not knowing any of the other children, she was a bit shy and would often play by herself. The very friendly and professional staff really brought her out of her shell and she has continued to grow in to her own very confident, bright, clever, friendly, happy little girl. She has formed strong relationships with many of the other children and I just love hearing all about her day and the new things she has learnt. She often comes home singing or with creative sculptures, paintings or very tasty cooking which we both enjoy.
The staff at Little Oaks are lovely, very friendly, professional and easy approachable. They have tailored to my daughters’ development needs and have given me regular reports, feedback and support.
I will be very sad to see her leave Little Oaks and move on to Primary School in September. My little girl is more and more each day her own independent little person and although none of her friends from Little Oaks will be going to her new Primary School (as we now live in another town) I am confident that she has the confidence and has learnt the right skills and knowledge to ease the transition.
Keep up the great work Little Oaks.“
“Having sent our 3 children here over the last 13 years we have nothing but positive praise. The high standard of care which the setting provides for the children is above and beyond.
Our child who is currently in the Pre-school room has a health care plan in place; we feel happy and confident that his needs are met and I know that all staff are so tuned in to him especially his keyworker Allie, the staff know when he’s not quite right and will give me a call if they have any concerns at all – this is such a peace of mind for a parent to feel confident of the care when leaving their child with someone else.
Our little boy loves the ‘extra special’ experiences which Little oaks provides; he often tells us about going to his brother’s big school for Action Kids and games, singing to the ‘old people’ as well as cooking and just last week he was so excited to tell us about the animals he saw. We also get to share these experiences through the regular Tapestry updates which staff put on which is really great to see!
All of the staff are on hand if you need anything at all and are always happy to help; this is also found by our Sons grandparents who collect sometimes.”
“I just wanted to thank you for making this week and Rory’s start to ‘formal’ education so easy for him and for me as an emotional wreck! You all work so hard and are so professional yet manage to strike the fine balance with being compassionate and caring too.
I was sure that I was going to cry this morning when I left him for the first time but I didn’t, and I realise that that’s because I couldn’t have left him in a better place, with lovelier people. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful setting with such wonderful staff for our children. I know it’s not an easy job, the pay’s not great and Ofsted like to make you jump through hoops at times but I just want you all to know that you are very much valued and appreciated, not only by the children who adore you but by their families too.
With very best wishes and grateful thanks,
“I just wanted to express to you what a truly wonderful pre-school Little Oaks is from a parent’s point of view. From the moment I arrived on the day to register my son when he was six months old, I was greeted by warm and friendly faces, who were more than willing to fully answer the questions I had and now he is four, things have only got better! The staff are wonderful and the environment superb! He has come on in leaps and bounds since attending Little Oaks. They provide such an array of activities that really appeal to all of his interests; from the amazing activities in the outside area, through to open access to playdough, drawing/colouring area and the fantastic new interactive white board (big hit!). I think it’s fantastic that the learning environment is always evolving with new equipment and activities appearing regularly which sparks the children’s curiosities
I find all the staff so warm and approachable that I have no problem in approaching any of them if I have anything I want to talk over but especially, Nikki is a true asset to Little Oaks! Always happy, friendly, on the ball and willing to give the time to any parents who wish to discuss anything with her, I have always felt truly listened to.
The highlight of my days are receiving the Tapestry notifications. It allows me a window into my sons Little Oaks world; as well as reassuring me that he is meeting his milestones, it shows the steps he is progressing along the EYFS. The staff have always given me pointers and ideas on what I can do at home to help him which is a great to know that I am doing activities that have been highlighted as helping him to achieve his next steps.
I have always been happy to recommend Little Oaks to other friend/parents as I think its a wonderful environment for children to play and learn.”
A poem kindly written for the Little Oaks team…
It’s been a long time now from when we came to you;
We gave you our children for you to see them through;
You’ve done a fab job helping them start school;
They all came away saying Little Oaks is ‘cool!’
They all had their wobbles and shed a few tears;
But came out smiling after conquering their fears;
With this we owe lots of thanks to you;
You’ve been a great team and we will all miss you!
Thanks for everything Little Oaks staff.
