Voluntary management committee
Little Oaks Pre-School is run by an elected Voluntary Management Committee with charitable status.
The Voluntary Management Committee ensures that major decisions regarding the setting are in the hands of the stakeholders and they are responsible for both policy and practice, managing finances and the employment and appraisal of members of staff. That said, the day to day running of the setting is firmly in the hands of the professional staff under the supervision of the Pre-School Manager, Nikki Lloyd, who manages the implementation of the curriculum within the setting and deals with the children’s development and welfare.
The Voluntary Management Committee is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and has adopted its Constitution.

The Committee consists of General Committee Members, a Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Secretary Treasurer and Safeguarding/Risk Assessment Committee-Link Officer.
The Committee is elected once a year at the Annual General Meeting held in September. Some members choose to serve for more than one year which helps continuity and stability. At the AGM the Committee presents the accounts for the previous financial year, provides an annual report and elects new members for the forthcoming year. Parents and carers are encouraged to attend the AGM and support the setting. The Committee meets once every half term throughout the academic year.
